Hope is A feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen:

(Hope adalah sebuah perasaan pengharapan dan keinginan terhadap hal tertentu yang diinginkan untuk terjadi)

Dialog Bahasa Inggris Expressing Hope adalah ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan pengharapan. Biasanya dengan menggunakan kata “I hope” dan “I expect”. Dalam Bahasa Indonesia kata tersebut mempunyai padanan “Semoga”, “Saya harap”.
Kapan kita menggunakan ungkapan pengharapan? Biasanya ungkapan pengharapan disampaikan kepada orang lain untuk mendapat sesuatu yang lebih baik. Misalnya, orang yang sedang sakit diharapkan cepat sembuh, orang yang sedang belajar tekun diharapkan dapat nilai bagus dalam ujian.

The expressions used in the dialogue are:

a. I hope she likes (will like) the flowers.

c. Hopefully, there is no victim in that train accident.
d. Let’s hope that she gets well soon.

Gina: Hi, Jean. How are you doing?
Jean: Bad.
Gina: What’s wrong?
Jean: My father got sick. He has to stay in the hospital for a few days to get medical care.
 Gina: What happened to him?
Jean: He got cancer.
Gina: I’m sorry to hear that. But you still go to school?
Jean: Yea, my mom told me that I have to go to school. She is in the hospital to accompany my dad.
Gina: I hope your dad will get better soon.
Jean: Yea, I hope so.
